Oliver Mackman is an operator, marketer and builder whose edge is going deep where others do not, and spotting the gap they miss. He started in e-commerce, learning paid acquisition and fulfilment at speed, then moved through social media, property and influencer management, where he built the systems that let rival agencies collaborate: a platform for hiring freelancers to support agencies, and a marketplace for buying and selling client contracts within the industry.
From there he moved into senior consultancy and operations, including digital-transformation work for a private-aviation business and the delicate business of managing high-net-worth client relationships, and in October 2023 sold the agency he had built to a larger group, a first exit. Since then he has founded and scaled several consumer digital platforms, continued modernising operations in private aviation, and most recently turned to building technology products across sectors, including a golf-club platform that gives clubs more modern, flexible software than the legacy systems they had been tied to.
Within the Muswell Rose group, Oliver's research depth and marketing-and-operations background sit behind much of the editorial and acquisition work.
The journey, year by year
2020
E-commerce beginnings
Launched into e-commerce during the first lockdown, dropshipping high-demand products (dog beds, face masks, hand sanitiser), learning paid traffic, fulfilment and customer acquisition the fast way.
2021
Social media management
Parlayed those marketing skills into managing social media for clients, which opened the door to property, managing holiday homes and Airbnbs across clients’ portfolios.
2022
Influencer management
Moved into talent management, helping influencers grow their reach and monetise their audiences through brand deals and content strategy. Built communities and systems that enabled agencies to collaborate and pool resources, including a platform for hiring freelancers to support agencies, and a marketplace for buying and selling client contracts within the industry.
Mid 2023
Consultancy
Took on consultancy contracts, applying everything learned so far. A first real exposure to operations and business strategy at a senior level, including a consultancy role with a private jet company, improving client satisfaction and retention, and a first taste of high-net-worth clients and the delicate art of managing those relationships.
Late 2023
Digital transformation
Continued supporting the private jet company, helping modernise its operations, implementing internal communication systems, streamlining client communications, and improving booking management to create a more scalable, efficient business.
October 2023
Agency exit
Sold the agency I had built to a larger agency, a first exit that freed me up to focus on what came next.
2024
Consumer digital platforms
Founded and held senior roles in several fast-scaling consumer digital businesses, building and scaling their platforms through performance marketing, automation, CRM implementation and customer-retention strategy.
2025
Aviation systems and operations
Further supported the private-aviation business with digital-transformation initiatives, internal communications, client relationship management and booking systems that improved efficiency and elevated the customer experience.
2026
Technology builds
Building technology products across sectors, including a golf-club platform that gives clubs more modern, flexible software than the legacy systems they had been tied to.
